Will They Ever Come Back to Your Website

By Markku Saastamoinen

Unfortunately, most people are unlikely to revisit your web page without a compelling reason. After all, we all behave rather impulsively on the Internet, so much so that we can easily forget where we were 10 web pages ago. As any good webmaster realizes, if 1,000 visitors visit your site and never come back, they take all the potential revenue they could spend with them.

For example, if you have 1,000 visitors visit your website in a day, you will likely never see them - or their potential spending money - again. A good website owner would be able to make some of those visitors into customers. Still, if you want your customer to comeback, you need to convince them to join your mailing list!

No matter how unique the content of your website might be, it will not be enough to get people to return to your website by itself. A mailing list is the only true way to entice otherwise one-time visitors into becoming repeat visitors.

Though many visitors may not make a purchase on your website, they will still consider signing up for you mailing list if you have a simple opt-in. Your visitors name and email address are all the information you need on your opt-in.

If you truly want to increase your subscribers, you should try building a list. Quite simply, you write and submit your articles on your topic of expertise or business nature to popular article directories where eZine publishers and readers are looking for the information you provide.

As many can attest to, article writing is a great way to practice viral marketing. All customers want to do business with knowledgeable people, and these articles will allow you to prove that you have that skill.

You'll build your mailing list through the resource box you attack to the articles. In your resource box (also known as bio box), you include a brief detail about yourself and your business site together with its URL. The URL you include should send visitors to the place on your website where they can sign up for your mailing list in order to maximize the size of your mailing list.

If your articles are found worth sharing, eZine publishers will republish your articles together with your resource box for their readers and subscribers. You will have then completed the easiest viral marketing you can do. Always including the important details about your website with the article writing is an essential step in making this work.
